The Psychiatric Centre North Baden (PZN) is a modern and efficient hospital for the treatment of adults. The PZN boasts six independent clinics: General Psychiatry I and II, Geriatric Psychiatry, Addiction Therapy and Withdrawal, Forensic Psychiatry (involuntary treatment for patients pursuant to § 63 of the German Penal Code (StGB)) and Psychosomatic Medicine. An out-patient centre and the psychiatric residential and nursing home round off the facility's offering.
Our patients receive treatment at the headquarters in Wiesloch, as well as the satellite centres in Bruchsal, Mosbach/Buchen, Schwetzingen and Weinheim. With over 1,800 employees, the hospital is among the largest employers in Wiesloch. The catchment area is the North Baden region with just under 1.7 million residents. Around 10,000 adults receive in-patient, day-patient and out-patient treatment every year.
The traditional and the modern come together at the PZN Wiesloch, which also enjoys protection as an historic ensemble. Indeed, its oldest buildings originate from 1905, when the facility was first established. With an eventful history, the establishment developed over the years and ultimately opened its first satellite centre. The Mental Health Centre Bruchsal began operations in 2006. The hospital's own 220-acre park is popular among patients, employees and guests, who enjoy taking extended walks through its greenery. Around 4,000 trees, 10 km of paths and roads for taking walks, as well as Café 26 and the occupational therapy gardening area with connected THEA grow shop offer visitors of all age groups a pleasant setting.
Alongside standard hospital operations, the facility also offers events from all specialist departments at its in-house training institute, the Academy in the Park.
Indeed, concerts, presentations and exhibitions are regularly organised at the PZN Wiesloch and the Academy in the Park. An open day is held every five years and is very well received among the local population.
